Question by motherofgradn04: Do you think paying 0 for a 1993 used Buick Regal is too much? I am getting it for my 21 year old.l?
She is in college and needs transportation to school, her part-time job and volunteer assignments. I do not want another automobile note that is why I want to purchase the automobile for her. I saw the automobile and it is in pretty good condition. All new tires, with rims, upholstery is evenhandedly clean, a/c, power steering, broadcasting (am/fm). BUT on the passenger side the fender needs to be fixed. Is there any way that I can find out if it has been in an accident? Thank you again folk for all your help.

Wow you are cheap. Get her a Asian car. They last a lot longer than american cars. Plus they need less fixes and maintenance.

get the vin number and run a carfax report. it will cost about 29 and gives you a comploete vehyicle history. also when you look at the vehicle, ask the seller to test drive and to allow your mechanic to look at it that way you can’t go wrong.
I cant even get tires for my car for $ 770 , ofcourse its cheap
Despite the damaged fender, that’s a reasonable amount to pay for that age and model of a car. But can’t you find her something a bit more economical to drive? That thing will be a gas hog and maintenance can be expensive…and what’s wrong with public transportation? When my kids went to college, that’s how they got around – by bus and by train. College would’ve cost thousands more if they’d been indulged by having cars…and now that they’ve graduated, all with honors, they’re glad they didn’t monkey around with wheels!
sounds like a good deal, 93 regal was a nice car, they ride and drive well and the 231 v6 is a decent engine that car should get about 25 miles per gallon on the highway when in good running condition. if it looks to be well maintained, drives down the road good and isn’t rusty I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it. Another plus is Insurance will be cheap and it’ll hold up better in a crash than some of the cheap compacts out there
